Main Stage Lineup Finalized

The lineup of main stage speakers for the 2012 Word Conference has been finalized. Keynote presentations will be provided by Richard Bauckham, Darrell Bock and Craig Evans.

Richard Bauckham (Ph.D.), was until recently Professor of New Testament Studies and Bishop Wardlaw Professor in the University of St Andrews, Scotland, and is now Professor Emeritus at St Andrews. He is a Fellow of the British Academy and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh. He retired in 2007 in order to concentrate on research and writing, and is Senior Scholar at Ridley Hall, Cambridge, where he does some teaching for the Cambridge Federation of Theological Colleges. In 2009 he was awarded the Michael Ramsey prize for his book Jesus and the Eyewitnesses, and in 2010 the Franz-Delitzsch-Award for a volume of collected essays, The Jewish World around the New Testament. Dr. Bauckham is the author of numerous articles and books, including Jesus and the Eyewitnesses: The Gospels as Eyewitness Testimony.

Darrell Bock (Ph.D.) has appeared in numerous media outlets, defending the reliability of the Bible generally and the Gospels particularly. Recent interviews include: ABC News Prime Time specials on the Da Vinci Code and on Mel Gibson’s The Passion, NBC Today Show, NBC Nightly NewsDateline, ABC Good Morning America, 20/20, CNN, Anderson Cooper 360, The O’Reilly Factor, Mad Money, Scarborough Country, CNN Daytime, Ted Koppel’s Special on the Jesus Tomb: A Critical Look, NPR News news talk shows hosted by Richard Land, JanetParshall, the BBC, Australian Broadcasting Company. Dr. Bock is the author of numerous articles and books, including Jesus according to Scripture: Restoring the Portrait from the Gospels.

Craig Evans (Ph.D.), is the Payzant Distinguished Professor of New Testament at Acadia Divinity College of Acadia University, in Wolfville, Nova Scotia, Canada. Along with countless interviews on radio networks across Canada and the US, Evans has been seen on: Dateline NBC, CBC, CTV, Day of Discovery, and many documentaries aired on BBC, The Discovery Channel, History Channel, History Television and others. He also has served as a consultant for the National Geographic Society. Dr. Evans is the author of numerous articles and books, including Fabricating Jesus: How Modern Scholars Distort the Gospels.
