His book, Breaking the Da Vinci Code made the New York Times Best Seller List in non-fiction in 2004 and was nominated for both the Gold Medallion Award in cultural engagement and was a Retailers’ Choice Winner in non-fiction for 2005 at the Christian Booksellers Association. He was recently featured on a segment on ABC Nightline. Topics of his media work have ranged from defining who evangelicals are for the media, to questions surrounding Jesus studies and the gospels, to issues tied to eschatology, the Middle East and Israel, to how Christianity relates to other world religions (especially Judaism and Islam), Christian views of war, issues tied to European’s reaction to US politics and religious views, and how Christianity and culture interact. He was a resource figure on the movie the Passion and has done consultation work with the Discovery Channel on various projects.
